I’m taking a few weeks of to enjoy the company of my newborn baby girl. In the mean time some very talented ladies will take over here on the blog. Enjoy!
Hello you all, I’m Ruth from Georgette! When Caroline asked me to provide a guest post on the Carrie Can blog I just could not refuse. 🙂 She just had to say the words ‘interior’ and ‘textile’ and my mind exploded. As a textile designer it’s hard to resist anything made out of threads. I always had a strong weakness for interior textiles and I strongly believe that a room becomes more powerful and cozy when you put some textile objects in it. And I don’t mean the regular things like carpets and curtains.
Today I would like to talk about one of my favorite pieces of fabric: the tea towel. I just love tea towels because of their weaving structure combined with the thickness of the cotton used. Sounds really nerdy, I know, but this is what blows my mind. These day’s you also find a lot of tea towels with beautiful prints etc.
But what I even like more about them is that they can lighten up your kitchen in no time! You don’t always have to use them: just hang them on a nice spot, like you would hang a frame. You can match it with the colors of your kitchen, use an accent color or even go for something completely different. I myself have a crush on black and white with soft pastel and a graphic print. They fit with anything.
Enjoy these nice pictures!
